Chengdu, the capital of China's southwest Sichuan Province, is famed for being the home of cute giant pandas. China being famously fixated with food, do yourself a favor and exchange your meager local Chinatown menu for the lavish Middle Kingdom cookbook. Second to none, the never-ending culinary adventure is possibly the most enticing aspect. With many vacation destinations in China, Chengdu is one of the options you would want to consider for an exotic honeymoon vacation.

The city is also home to the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can view endangered giant pandas in their natural habitat. If you've got a few days to spare, you may want to squeeze in the Bifengxia Panda Reserve, too: it's 100 miles away (a beautiful drive) from the center of Chengdu. Here, you can also volunteer with the pandas for several days at a time. The other attractions in Chengdu are Leshan Giant Buddha, one of the tallest Buddha statues, Mount Qingcheng, Wenshu Yuan Monastery, Jinli Pedestrian Street, Chengdu Culture Park, etc. If you enjoy spicy food, then the good news is, Chengdu is famous for its spicy hot pot and many other mouth tingling dishes. This is because of the world-famous Sichuan peppercorn that is grown in the region. Remember to know enough about the suitable climate and weather before planning your visit to Chengdu. After all, you don’t want to end up eating spicy food in sweaty climate!
